Moy Eng leads Community Arts Stabilization Trust (CAST), a community centered real estate organization for the arts. In deep partnerships with community, CAST invests and stewards affordable housing and workspaces across the San Francisco Bay Area. Launched in 2013, CAST has acquired and invested in six arts buildings in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, cited as a creative placekeeping model by cultural and civic leaders internationally and inspired CAST-like ventures in Austin, Seattle, and London.
Moy brings experience in the philanthropic sector as a grantmaker, consultant, and senior executive in areas as diverse as arts and culture, renewable energy, lesbian and gay rights, immigrant rights, and international human rights. Known for her visionary ability to identify and support progressive ideas, she has also worked as a grantmaker in foundations with assets ranging from $100 million to $9 billion, making $200 million in grants in the US and globally.
Moy has been honored by the World Affairs Council as a social entrepreneur “who will shape our tomorrow”, the California Arts Council, and by the San Francisco Unified School District in the inaugural year of its highest honor, Premier Dream Catcher.
Fortunate to live a daytime life in service, she is a poet and vocalist. Moy collaborates principally as a lyricist with seven-time Grammy nominated composer, Wayne Wallace. In 2019, they released their first recording of originals, The Blue Hour: https://thebluehourproject.com, and performed songs from the album at the September 2022 Monterey Jazz Festival. They are working on their next album.
