The Loft Hour: Moderator Abigail De Kosnik in conversation with Timmia Hearn DeRoy & Cathy Park Hong

Elevate your lunch break with The Loft Hour, a series that invites arts faculty to riff on their work over lunch, in an informal conversation moderated by an ARC-affiliated faculty member.

Join us in welcoming our esteemed colleagues in Architecture, Art Practice, English/Creative Writing, Film & Media, History of Art, Music, and Theater, Dance, & Performance Studies. ARC developed The Loft Hour in 2023 to create cross-disciplinary conversations, across the arts and faculty rank levels, with the aim of creating a spotlight and fulcrum for new members of the Arts at Berkeley. Hosted by the Arts Research Center in our loft space, and supported by the Dean’s Office of the Division of Arts and Humanities.

Designed to reignite connections between colleagues and aligned with A&H Dean Sara Guyer's initiatives to synergize, support, and help retain new faculty members.

Now in the third year since the program's inception, ARC is delighted to have showcased 45 Berkeley faculty in The Loft Hour conversations, including 30 featured artists from seven arts departments, in conversation with 15 interlocutors affiliated with ARC.
