Space Availability/Co-Sponsorships
ARC rents out our space on a limited basis during the year. We will often co-sponsor an event by waving our space fees. Since we only program one event per week, including our own events, the space fills quickly.
Mission Co-Sponsorships
ARC sets aside a percentage of it's program budget per year to support arts research activities and events happening on campus by departments, faculty, and student groups, which includes media co-sponsorship as well.
Fellowships/Grants
ARC has a long-standing fellowship program, reaching back to 2009, which has provided support to over 187 fellows. The program supports faculty and students to work on a creative project, often over the space of a semester or year, and sometimes on a project basis. In 2024/25 ARC will be piloting two programs:

Loft Creative Research Support for Faculty: three $2,000 awards for arts faculty for creative manuscript workshops or to support creative research - including creative writing, art practice, music, theater, dance, performance studies, or music.
- LIFT Support for Students: Up to eight $500 awards to fund specific student projects, including arts research related travel, performance costs, materials, exhibition needs, etc.
Artist-in-Residence
Since 2001, ARC has hosted over 28 visiting artists-in-residence. Visits have lasted 3 days to 3 months and give artists the time to conduct creative research, work with students and faculty in campus seminars, and engage with our local community in public program presentations. The AIR program is by invite only, by the director of the Arts Research Center.
In addition to the AIR program, ARC with it's partner the Dept of Theater Dance and Performance Studies co-presents an Indigenous Performing Arts Residency, a three-year opprotunity for a local performing arts company to stage a production on campus by an Indigenous performing artist. ARC and TDPS will invite the selected performer/palywright to visit campus during the performance as an artist-in-residence.
