Mother Language Day Celebration

Friday, Feb 21, 2025
10 – 11am
Hearst Field Annex D23

February 21 is International Mother Language Day, an annual observance created by UNESCO in 1999 to bring attention to the critical role of language diversity.

Our local celebration will be held at the Arts Research Center and feature language activists, writers, and performers offering song, dance, and literary arts that celebrate mother languages from around the world.

This event is led by the Indigenous Poetics Lab at the Arts Research Center, in partnership with the DE in Indigenous Language Revitalization.
