Joining Cal Performances’ ReVisions series with the Arts Research Center’s Time Zones research on hybrid art practice, Revisions in Time presents two bracing public dialogues bringing together artists, critics, and curators to engage the work of UC Berkeley visiting artists. Explore contemporary work that challenges the conventional parameters of music, literature, dance, and theater. 


Revisioning: The Role of Curation in Experimental Performance

Rob Bailis, Associate Director of Cal Performances, moderates a conversation on the role of curation both inside and outside the creative process with:
Sarah Cahill, Pianist, Radio Host, and guest music curator at the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, Ed Campion, Director of CNMAT, Composer and Music Faculty, UC Berkeley, Rude Mechs, multi-disciplinary collective of theater artists from Austin, TX, and Lisa Steindler, Artistic Director, Z Space.


Installing Performance: On Stage, in Galleries, and Elsewhere

Shannon Jackson, Associate Vice Chancellor for the Arts & Design, moderates a discussion about how performance work changes as it moves from theaters to museums to public spaces:
