Adriana Johnson is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature and Spanish & Portuguese at UC Irvine. Her first book was Sentencing Canudos: Subalternity in the Backlands of Brazil (2010). She is finishing Infrastructures of Visuality in Latin America, and planning Thinking Water, about how visual forms in Latin America materialize a knowledge of drought, rivers, rains, and sea.

Sara Kimberlin serves as Executive Director and Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Poverty and Inequality. Her research examines how poverty is measured, as well how social policies such as tax credits, safety net programs, and cash-based interventions affect the economic security of families and individuals with low incomes. She also focuses on housing affordability and homelessness and effective policy approaches to address these challenges.
