April 3, 2017, Berkeley, CA— Experience the accomplishments of Berkeley’s talented students in Fine Art, Music, Design Innovation, Dance, New Media, Theater, Writing and Research, and Engineering. A celebration of student creativity is on view across the UC Berkeley campus with a diverse array of final arts and design projects in dozens of presentations, exhibitions, performances, and design reviews. Students will be on hand to discuss their work in locations around the university. The annual showcase program begins on April 20 and continues through May. See the schedule of events below. Most events are free and open to the public.

The showcases projects will include the debut of Theater, Dance and Performance Studies will debut the 2017 Berkeley Dance Project, inspired by the theme “Digging Deep.” On April 27th, the first ever Creativity Lab showcase will display 36 students’ final projects, all derived from the idea, “you should make art about your fears.” Young scholars from the Institute for South Asia Studies and the Department of History will present their work on May 2nd and 3rd, and the Chancellor’s Awards for Public Service with Chancellor Nicholas Dirks will be presented on May 2nd as well.
