Richard T. Walker: the fallibility of intent
Location: Gatehouse Gallery

video-2-left-screen-4-webdi Rosa presents the first Bay Area institutional solo exhibition by British-born, San Francisco-based artist Richard T. Walker and the inauguration of a new artist residency partnership with Stags’ Leap Winery. Lending an outsider perspective to the limitless bounds of the American West, Walker explores the complex intersections of language, music, and the human condition amidst the backdrop of the natural environment. Informed by a range of influences—from the romantic sublime to early on-the-run road films—Walker shares his investigations within the panoramic landscape through photography, video, performance, music, and sculptural installation. The exhibition builds on Walker’s ongoing quest for a transcendent means of communication with his natural surroundings, when words alone are not enough.
