The Arts Research Center brings together faculty from a broad range of
disciplines and departments, allowing them to discover and build upon
shared interests and expertise to advance collaborative, interdisciplinary
projects. Currently, ARC has research teams in the following areas:

Art + American Cultures
Exploring how the arts express and advance cultural diversity throughout
the Americas.

Art + EU
Considering how the arts respond to and propel the changing landscape
of the European Union.

Art + East Asia
Considering how the arts respond to and propel the changing landscape
of East Asian nations.

Art + Neighborhoods*
Researching how arts impact community development and how urban
planning impacts the arts.

Art + STEM*
Investigating synergies between the arts and the STEM fields.

Art + Time*
Examining the increasingly blurred boundary between the visual and
performing arts.

Art + University*
Building the connection between art production and the university’s teaching
and research mission.

*In 2011-2012, these projects are being supported in part by a Geballe-funded
G.R.O.U.P. Research Team.
