Berkeley's all-ages home for world music and dance since 1973. Features live music from national, international, and local artists six nights a week, focusing on world and roots music. Many performances offer dance lessons prior to the performance that are included in the ticket price. Also hosts dozens of dance and movement classes and workshops in the two studio spaces, and provide space for the community to hold events, fundraisers, benefits, and also private events.

Hertz Hall of Music is the performance space for the Department of Music, University of California, Berkeley, seats 678, and is considered one of the best concert spaces in the State of California. Hertz Hall houses a popular free Noon Concert Series and a full roster of evening and weekend concerts by superb student ensembles. Student and faculty performances feature music of many cultures and centuries performed by the University Symphony and Choruses, Gamelan, Baroque, African Drumming & Dance, Gospel Chorus, Wind, Jazz & Improvised, and new music , as well as a professional recital series presented by Cal Performances. It is named for longtime conductor of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Alfred Hertz, who contributed funds for its construction. Many performances are free, UCB student tickets are $5, general admission is $15.

La Peña is a community cultural center with a national reputation and a global vision that promotes peace, social justice and cultural understanding through the arts, education and social action. As a welcoming gathering place, La Peña provides opportunities for artists to share diverse cultural traditions, to create and perform their work, and to support and interface with diverse social movements. Annually, La Peña presents over 200 events with emerging and established artists; organizes an arts education program; produces new works by local artists, presents internationally and nationally renowned artists, and houses a Latin American cafe which complements the organization's mission.
